I am attending my senior year at Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, Texas and hope to participate in an exciting government studies program for students called Close Up.

Close Up is a weeklong educational program that takes place in Washington, D.C. It reflects the belief that a "close up" look at our government encourages students to grow in their understanding of the democratic process. For your information, I am enclosing some information about Close Up that includes a sample schedule of a Close Up week. You can also find this information and more on line at http://mrhallsroom.com. As you can see, the program is full of interesting and stimulating activities from which few students ever have the opportunity to benefit. Our group from Bryan Adams High School will attend this year's program March 5 -11, 2006. During an intensive week of government study, we will participate in workshops and meet with members of Congress or their staffs, representatives of cabinet departments, lobbyists, embassy officials, and members of the media.

The program cost for each student, including instruction, travel, room, and meals are $1504. To meet this cost it is necessary for me to seek some financial help.

Contributions are tax-deductible if checks are made payable to "Close Up Foundation and mailed to Bryan Adams High School. The Close Up Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501 (c) 3 organization. The tax-deductible number, for your records, is 23-7122882.

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. Many consider it an investment in our community's future because the Close Up Washington experience will be helping students, like myself, become more informed and responsible citizens.
